A named cow
Your sponsorship will be matched to a specific named retired dairy cow. Each cow has four sponsorship shares. You share her story with up to three other sponsors; a share supports her care and does not convey ownership.
One cow. Four caring sponsors. A quieter life at Milk and Meadow Heritage Dairy.
We’re developing a retirement sponsorship for people who want a lasting connection with one of our dairy cows. Your cow will have a name, a story, and up to four sponsors sharing her retirement care.
Join the advance sponsorship listEach quarter-share sponsorship is a $100 monthly commitment to support your assigned cow until she passes from natural causes. Four filled shares provide $400 a month toward her care. It is not a short-term subscription: there is no fixed two-year end date, and the total cost depends on the length of her life.
Sign up ahead of time. Before a cow is assigned, we’ll confirm availability, share her information, and complete the sponsorship agreement with you.

You’ll receive a sheet introducing your cow, with her photograph and the background we can share from her farm records.
Each month, your cow’s page will have an update so you can follow her retirement and see how she’s doing. Visit the cow journal →
Your monthly share contributes toward feed, pasture, routine veterinary and hoof care. With all four shares filled, her sponsorship brings in $400 a month. Final care and funding arrangements will be explained before enrollment.
A personalized certificate will recognize your connection with your sponsored cow.
You may choose to buy your cow a bag of sweet feed or another treat, separate from the monthly sponsorship. We’ll confirm the feed or treat, price, and suitability for her care plan before a purchase is accepted. No treat purchase is required.
Feed options must fit the cow’s diet and applicable certification requirements. Approved choices and prices will be listed when the program opens.
Already matched with a cow? Tell us her name and what you’d like to give her. We’ll confirm an approved option and price before you pay.
Sponsors may visit their cow with prior notice and an agreed appointment. Contact us first so we can arrange a time that works for you, the farm, and the animals.

Program in development. Before enrollment, the final agreement will explain care and veterinary arrangements, the natural-end-of-life commitment, payments, and what happens if a sponsor cannot continue. Sponsorship does not transfer legal ownership of the cow. No payments are accepted on this page.
